Friends of Kelsey Park

Upcoming Events

Sunday 2nd July - Musical Afternoon - Our showcase of the music of the chidren and young people of the borough will take place again on the main lawn, near the information centre, from 2pm to 5pm.

"This year’s Musical Afternoon will commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the formation of the Friends of Kelsey Park. We will have many of our regulars – including the immensely popular ‘New Generation’ big band from the players of the wonderful BYMT; the choir and glee club from St Mark’s School and the Bishop Justus Jazz Band, which has concluded the afternoon for some years. The audience always expresses its disappointment that the afternoon is over but is cheered by the notes of ‘Sweet Caroline’ – played at our request, and giving the audience a chance to participate.

Our regular talented soloists and duettists will also be cheering us, and this year we will be welcoming for the first time the choir and rock group from our nearest neighbours, Harris, Beckenham – together with a solo from the young lady who won their ‘Over the Rainbow’ competition.

Do please come, bring a chair and enjoy super music in a gorgeous setting. I shall never forget the teenager who, the first year, said she had never played in a more beautiful place.

There will be refreshments available and some children’s crafts. If you are a member, it will be a great time to join the Friends. The purpose of the afternoon is to help our regular visitors to enjoy the Park at its best and to introduce new people to the Friends and the fantastic heritage that is ours."
